Labour and the Tories retreat sharply in British local elections. Reform UK emerges as clear winners in the British regional and local elections, while the ruling Labour Party suffers heavy losses.

Votes from Thursday's local elections are now being fully counted in the United Kingdom. By Friday lunchtime, it was clear that the social democratic Labour Party had lost its majority in eight councils and more than two hundred seats. The Conservative Tories are also falling significantly. Man charged with attempted murder after knife attack in London. A 45-year-old man has been charged after a knife attack in London on Wednesday in which two Jewish men were injured.  

The British counter-terrorism police have determined that the attack in Golders Green was a terrorist act, writes the BBC. The area in the northern part of London has a large Jewish population – and the attack is one of several incidents targeting Jewish locations in the city recently.  

The government said that the threat level has increased "for some time" and added that the increased level "is not solely" due to the incident last Wednesday. Watch the segment on SVT Nyheter.
