Which conservative voter will be the first to point out that those in power in Turkey don’t seem to have let the liberals set the stage for election results like the ones we’ll see in Germany?

Raids and arrests in Turkey. In Turkey, the police have cracked down on gay bars, activists' homes, and LGBTQI organizations. Several hundred people are reported to have been detained in a coordinated operation. At the same time, Pride participants continue to be arrested in Istanbul. Watch the segment on TV4 Nyhetsmorgon.

German state elections. Both the right-wing populist AfD and the left-wing party Die Linke look set for a successful election in the German federal states of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Berlin, respectively. This is according to exit polls. The election comes two weeks after AfD's historic successes in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, where the right-nationalist party achieved its highest ever election result with 43.8 percent of the vote.

Left-wing leader Elif Eralp therefore looks set to potentially become Berlin's first female mayor with an immigrant background. Her and the party's successes have been compared to New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

AfD continues its growth trend. The party is getting 37 percent of the votes in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern according to an exit poll, making it the largest party there. – The election result is a disaster, says Germany's Chancellor Friedrich Merz according to Reuters. See the report on SVT News.

Tyska delstatsvalen. Både det högerpopulistiska AFD och vänsterpartiet Die Linke ser ut att gå mot succéval i de tyska förbundsländerna Mecklenburg-Vorpommern respektive Berlin. Det visar vallokalundersökningar. Valet hålls två veckor efter AFD:s historiska framgångar i delstaten Sachsen-Anhalt, där det högernationalistiska partiet nådde sitt högsta valresultat någonsin med 43,8 procent av rösterna.

Vänsterledaren Elif Eralp ser därmed ut att kunna bli Berlins första kvinnliga borgmästare med invandrarbakgrund. Hennes och partiets framgångar har jämförts med New Yorks borgmästare Zohran Mamdani.

Reporters barred from the White House. American journalists are being denied access to the White House on Saturday morning, reports MS NOW and CNN.  

Trump wrote on social media on Friday that he planned to ban MS NOW, CNN, and Politico from the White House. He argues that the named media outlets produce fake news. Watch the segment on SVT News.

Iran’s conditions for ending the war. Iran says it has presented conditions to resume negotiations and end the war with the US, reports Al Jazeera. The conditions include ending the war on all fronts, releasing Iranian assets, and lifting the naval blockade, according to Iran’s security chief Mohsen Rezaee in an interview on Saturday.  

According to Rezaee, talks with mediators from Qatar and Pakistan are ongoing. Tehran now says it is waiting for a response from US President Donald Trump. Watch the segment on SVT News.

Irans villkor för ett slut på kriget. Iran säger sig ha framfört villkor för att återuppta förhandlingarna och avsluta kriget med USA, rapporterar Al Jazeera. Villkoren omfattar att kriget ska avslutas på alla fronter, att de iranska tillgångarna ska frigöras och att sjöblockaden ska upphävas, uppger Irans säkerhetschef Mohsen Rezaee i en intervju på lördagen.
